Artwalk at the 3rd St. Gallery in Moscow, ID is hosting a show about the concept of portraits. Here is the CIty of Moscow’s Arts Department statement:

Honest Portrayal features two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and text-based artworks made by 55 artists from the Moscow region. 

From marble statues of emperors to paintings of pets, portraiture has a long and rich history. Far from being a mechanical replication, a portrait always proclaims the importance of the subject as well as recording elements of its appearance.  

Honest Portrayal at the Third Street Gallery presents portraits with a wide range of fidelity to the visible world. While open to artworks that achieve a likeness of form, the exhibition is also inclusive of artworks that convey a true likeness of spirit.
